Setting up your catalog

Every estimate is priced from your catalog. A new account starts with a complete one carrying placeholder market prices — quotes work on day one — but the numbers only mean something once they're your suppliers'. Everything below lives under Account → Catalog (administrators only).

Framing: beams, purlins, eave struts, base angle

Each framing item carries its dimensions, weight, and a price per foot — plus the stock lengths your supplier actually sells (open a row's detail panel to edit them). Stock lengths matter: the cutting optimizer builds your material list from them, so wrong lengths mean wrong drop.

Panels, colors, and per-panel supplier pricing

Panels are priced per linear foot per color — the way panel suppliers quote. Add your colors to the color pool, then set the per-color price on each panel.

Trim and fastener/closure packages are priced per panel supplier, because that's who you buy them from, color-matched: pick the panel, then fill its trim prices (eave, rake, ridge, corner, base, jambs…) and its accessory prices (clips, screws, closures, anchors).

Doors, insulation, concrete, rebar

Overhead and walk doors are each-priced by size; insulation by the roll with its R-value; concrete per cubic yard (with PSI where you price by mix); rebar per stick.

Labor

Metal and concrete labor are structured packages — each package holds its rate rows, and estimates apply the package you choose. Put your crews' real numbers here; the placeholder rates are only there so a fresh account computes.

Three behaviors worth knowing

  • $0 never hides. A zero price is allowed but every estimate that touches it carries a warning — a quote can't silently omit a cost.
  • Deactivate, don't delete. Retiring an item marks it inactive so old estimates still open and reprice honestly; new estimates can't pick it.
  • One catalog per company. Your whole team quotes from the same prices; change a price once and every new estimate uses it.
